Cape Perpetua, as it is known today, is a forested headland rising 800 feet above the Pacific Ocean on the central Oregon coast. As the highest viewpoint on the Oregon coast, it offers some of the most stunning views of the jagged Oregon coastline and crushing waves below. It is also the gateway to miles of incredible gravel trails and backroads that traverse the coastal mountains through the forest, along creeks, and providing epic views of the coastline.

To the native Alsea people who inhabited the land as far back as 6,000 years ago, the area was known as Halaqaik.
