California's most remote stretch of coastline, reached by the roads nobody paved properly. Mattole Road out of Ferndale climbs and drops through steep grades and broken pavement to Petrolia and Honeydew, with almost no cell signal and almost no other traffic. Dual-sport recommended; this is a bring-your-own-bike route.
